Paper Craft: Creative Greeting Card

Difficulty: Easy

Age: 3 and above

Description:
How frequent do we prepare gifts for special occasion? How frequent have we had left over gift wrappers that are too small to be really useful, yet too waste to be disposed? How frequent after wrapping the gift, we found ourselves have forgotten to grab a greeting card from the store? How you curse that you wish you were a better artist to hand-drawn a card for your friend?

Now, worry no more, with  some quick tips and in 15 minutes, you can hand made your own  nice and presentable creative greeting card.

What you'll need:
1. Colored corrugated board (any color of your choice)
2. Color papers (any color of your choice)
3. Some left over gift wrappers (preferably one with some cute pictures)
4. Scissors
5. White Glue
6. Color pencils

How to make it:
1. Cut the colored corrugated board to the size of the greeting card you need.
2. Cut the matching color paper slightly smaller than the card in step 1.

3. Screen through the left over gift wrappers, look for some useful and interesting motive or design. Cut those out and leave aside.
4. Cut 2 strips of present paper for the lining of the card.
5. Use color pencil, sketch your greetings or messages on the color paper from Step 2.
6. Assemble all the parts in earlier steps: first glue the lining using paper strips on the color paper on Step 2. Then glue the paper from Step 2 on to the board on Step 1, align it in the way you like. Lastly, add on any other motives or pictures that will overlap on top of the color paper.
7. Lastly, write your personalized message or signed your name.
You're done!

Tips:
1. Next time when you shop for gift wrapper, don't forget to look for one that has some cute little figures that will be useful when it becomes left overs. Don't worry about the motive being cut and seem incomplete. Do you notice that I have just found one bear that is incomplete? Just design so that the incomplete motive can be at the edge of the card something similar to mine.
2. You may present the card in any way you like, for example, punch 2 holes and tied a string over the hole and you can hang the card anywhere you like, alternatively, just add a stand behind using card board, and you'll have a greetings display that stands.
3. Instead of using color pencil to sketch the birthday messages, you may use any medium you like, such as colorful shining pen.
4. When working with young kids, parent will need to prepare all the cutting ahead and let the little toddler just assemble and stick on the design.
Happy crafting!
