Stone Painting: "I love U!" Stone Paper Weight

Difficulty: Easy
Age: 5 and up (with help from adults for smaller age kids)

Description

To express your love to someone you love in a unique way, try this!! Something cute and useful for Daddy or your beloved one to treasure as long as they like and close at heart!

What you'll need:
1. Decorative stone from the garden
2. Some acrylic paint
3. Some permanent marker
How to make it:
1. Clean the stone by brushing off all the sands on it with some soap and water.
2. Dry it thoroughly, with the aid of a hair dryer or under the hot sun.
3. Paint the acrylic paint of your choice colour onto it on one side.
4. Let it dry, then you can proceed to paint the other side.
5. After it is totally dried, draw your design or write your message on it.
6. Leave it untouched until the next day, and your project is completed!

Tips:
1. To make sure the arcylic paint sticks on well, do not mix the paint with water, and sweep the paint evenly on the stone one layer at a time.
2. If the paint is unable to cover the colour of the stone with just one layer, then let it dry before apply the second layer. Repeat the process until the desired effect is obtained. Make sure each layer is totally dry before painting the next layer to prevent smearing of the previous layer.
3. To add more interesting design on it, other colour of acrylic paint can be added on top of the base colour after it is dried.
4. Some arcylic paint requires longer time to stablize then the other, leave the completed project untouched in an airy place until you are sure that it is ready for use.

Thanks. Glad you like it. Quality of paint is definitely important for a good piece of art creation, although all other elements are as important too.
